If this season has taught us anything, sublime passing and being able to hold onto the ball well is a good technique to win games. Without a doubt managers will be spending the better part of their summers devising a plan to disassemble Jose Mourinho’s very effective system.

Müller’s unpredictability and attacking prowess may well be part of the answer to that problem. He seems to find space in places nobody else thought to look, and most importantly he is incredibly adaptable and able to play anywhere from centre-mid forwards.

He has already bagged, by the age of 25, a slew of honours including four Bundesliga titles – the ever predictable German league, a World Cup and UEFA Champions League. In addition, with ten goals in World Cup Finals tournaments, he looks likely to challenge for the world record. Not bad going for a non-centre forward.
