At 30 you might call Iniesta an aging player. Not that he is over the hill though yet. Now would be a great time for a master like Iniesta to move to the English game.

Although his career seems to have just passed its peak, last season was certainly no damp squib; he took home his seventh La Liga title with Barcelona and is into the final of this year’s Copa del Rey.

The English game would certainly suit Iniesta rather well, and his ability to split a defence apart with a deft pass is a quality much sought after in the league. But a player like him being at any club is surely a huge boost, not only to morale – he knows how to win top accolades – but also for the younger players coming though who are sure to benefit from his mastery.
