The 2014 FIFA World Cup is set to kick off in but a few hours and the millions of football-fanatics around the world look forward to the clash of the globe€™s finest footballing nations. Players and managers will put their reputations on the line for a stab at glory which could be remembered through the ages; we will see sumptuous goals, incredible assists, malicious fouls and career-defining moments. However €“ more than in any of the recent international tournaments €“ very few people believe England have the ability to raise the trophy on July 13th. Naysayers quote the lack of experience, lack of world-class talent and a gruelling group as reasons why Hodgson€™s men cannot come home as heroes. England are currently valued as a 30/1 underdog to win the whole competition; given a lower chance of success than Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, France, Portugal and Uruguay€ However, over here at WhatCulture.com we have rather more faith in our boys in Brazil. They may be young, inexperienced and in one of the more challenging groups, but we believe that the lads have many advantages that the naysayers are overlooking. Football isn€™t played on paper €“ we are reminded all the time while watching our beloved sport to expect the unexpected; very few things are more unexpected than England winning the World Cup (other than Honduras winning, perhaps).
