10 Reasons Luis Suarez Is Irreplacable At Liverpool
3. The Goals
One of the most common sights in English football is a small buck-toothed Uruguayan wheeling away from the net, planting a sloppy kiss on his wrist. It wasnt just the volume of goals that endeared Suarez to the Anfield faithful it was the sheer variety of them. From the quick-fire Bergkamp-esque close control finish against Tim Krul, to his thumping header against West Brom, and his collection of spectacular long-range strikes against Norwich City, he could have had awards for consecutive appearances in MOTD Goal of the Month competitions. Suarez was a rare type of football, in that he could literally score any type of goal. The Premier League probably hasnt seen such an attacker since the days of Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry. Too often were Premier League goalkeepers left scratching their heads, wondering how on earth they had been beaten from there, or defenders still trying to work out how they managed to let him score from such a tight angle, as the diminutive talent wheeled away in glorious celebration. There is a reason Barcelona have taken such a fancy to him, with the club built on an ethos of silky, fluid football, dating back to the days of Johan Cruyff. For Liverpool, they dont know just how good they had it.
