10 Ridiculously Successful UFC Stars With Boring Fight Styles

7. Lyoto Machida

Machida has long been been classified as "elusive", which is a polite way of saying he rarely engages his opponent in violence. He spends the majority of his bouts shifting around the cage effortlessly, dodging strikes and throwing a few counters here and there. Look at his recent title fight with Chris Weidman. Lyoto spent so much of the first three rounds avoiding contact that when crunch time hit he was so far down on the scorecards that he had to finish to win. He's technical and effective while bland and boring, kind of like an MMA version of Josh Groban: a fighter whose great for that particular style, but one who has a very niche fanbase that he appeals to, meanwhile the rest of us groan at the thought of having to watch him.
