10 Most Shocking Firings From The UFC

10. Sean McCorkle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfZz6NCn3fM He may not be very skilled, but Sean McCorkle was always entertaining. In a division that sorely lacks depth, it surprised me to see him fired so quickly. I've always believed that a fighter should not be cut after just two losses. The minimum of losses should be at three for a fighter to be cut. McCorkle had lost to Stefan Struve and Christian Morecraft, after his emphatic upset over Mark Hunt in 67 seconds. That still wasn't enough for the UFC to give him another opportunity. Despite his witty interviews and trash talk, they were never high on him. They gave him the stage, as the co main event of UFC 124. That never really materialized into anything special, as there was no count down show or spot light on either fighter. All the hype was going into the grudge match between Georges St. Pierre and Josh Koscheck. McCorkle still showed promise in taking down and controlling Struve for the first three minutes, before gassing out later in the round. He fought Morecraft in a close first round, before getting caught in a standing guillotine after going for a takedown. You need all the heavyweights you can get, especially in the UFC today. The fact that they let him go without hesitation was shocking. He deserved one more opportunity based on his entertaining antics and putting on entertaining fights.
