There is no sport that is more unpredictable than MMA. While that has proven to be entertaining for fans, it hasnt always given the fighters much room for leisure. The repeated phrase of one punch can change the complexity of your career applies here. Over the past seven years or so, the UFCs roster has dramatically increased in size. The acquisition of companies like Pride, WEC, and Strikeforce have led to that increase. This has led to some fighters not having certain opportunities in the UFC. They dont have much room for failure; otherwise they could easily be cut. You cant predict what the UFCs stance is on a certain fighter. If they are on a losing streak and arent a household name, they could be liable to being let go. Its a crazy sport, yet thats what makes every fighter into being so disciplined. Sadly as disciplined as they may be, some have been unrightfully been let go for even one single loss. Some are notorious for not having fan-friendly styles, which leads to their demise following a loss. This list will go through fighters, who were cut and many people didnt see it coming.
