He arrived in England last summer having scored over 200 goals in Spain. A prolific marksman, Spurs had fought off competition from Liverpool to land the 28 year old, as Andre Villas-Boas sought to fill the goalscoring void that the impending sale of Gareth Bale would create. Soldado managed to score six league goals in 28 outings last season, as he struggled to adapt to the English game. Attracting critics and detractors like bees to honey, the static centre-forward simply failed to justify his sizeable £26 million price tag. This season, he has continued in the same tepid fashion, failing to find the back of the net in the Premier League as he struggles for game-time under new boss Mauricio Pochettino. It seems crazy that the Spaniard has only been in north London for the bones of 18 months and has already seen off two managers - such is the insanity of Tottenham Hotspur. Its a goalscoring record that is enough to water the eyes of many an exasperated Spurs supporter, and patience is wearing thin with the former Valencia superstar. Should he continue to toil in front of goal, one would have to wonder when Spurs chief executive Daniel Levy will finally wield the axe and decide to cut his losses on the man they shelled out such an extortionate amount of cash for during the summer of 2013.
