The case of Benoit Assou-Ekotto is a strange one. The Cameroon international wasn't even named in Tottenham's squad this season - neither in the Premier League or the Europa League - and he is therefore in limbo with regards to his career both at the club and in general. However, for a man who continues to receive a substantial weekly wage for doing nothing, he seems very content to sit back and watch the club struggle rather than fight to prove his worth. Assou-Ekotto seems to spend most of his time on social media, posting photos of non-football activities and writing "lol" a lot. He is hardly portraying himself as someone who wants to play for Spurs or get back in to football as soon as possible.
