Walcott has always struggled with injuries, but crucially has always come back fighting, something that is perhaps worth noting given his recent return after a long lay-off.

Having started the 2013-14 season strongly, he was forced to miss two months after having surgery. Nevertheless, he returned in December with two goals in a defeat to Man City before netting twice again two weeks later against West Ham.

The Hammers had taken the lead early in the second half and threatened to increase their lead before Walcott scuffed a shot past the West Ham defence and goalkeeper Adrian to equalise. Three minutes later he had given Arsenal the lead.

For a player that isn't supposed to be much good with his head, Walcott connected well with Lukasz Podolski's cross and headed powerfully home.

He would score again the following week against Cardiff, but the next match, a 3rd Round cup tie with Tottenham, would result in the cruciate ligament injury from which he has only recently properly recovered.
