The latter last summer went on to seal an £80 million dream move to Real Madrid, giving an indication as to the potential for young Saints academy graduates. And everything suggests that Shaw will follow in the illustrious footsteps of the Wales midfielder by going on to become one of the world's very best players. Speedy going forward, dedicated recovering of possession and a good decision maker - Shaw is already looking close to being the finished article, and there's no telling what his future might hold. Incidentally, Bale started his career as a left-back, before transforming into an attacking midfielder. With Shaw's attributes, he might one day follow a similar career path. But the future of Manchester United - and Shaw - is very bright, whatever happens.
