10 Things Ronda Rousey Must Do To Regain Her UFC Title

3. Take A Tune Up Fight

Here's an unpopular opinion that has merit: Ronda Rousey should not get an instant title fight rematch. In fact, she shouldn't even ask for one. Yes, Dana White has come out and said it will happen in 2016. Should it be Rousey's very next fight? No. It will be, unless something incredible happens, and it will likely be at UFC 200, which will be a stacked card and one of the biggest in UFC history (for once, that's not hyperbole). However, if Rousey went about things the right way, she'd train like a beast in the gym, and take a warm up fight against a decent striker - but someone a notch below Holm. Improving striking takes time, and the best way to test what you've learned is in a live fight. Thing is, now that Rousey has lost once, the UFC will not risk letting the big payday a rematch would bring slip away. A second straight loss, after all, might send her packing to Hollywood for good, and Dana White and co. won't risk it. It's not what's best for the fighter, however.
