Making no secret of his affinity for hip hop music, Shaq has released four albums (all before winning an NBA Championship), and finding surprising success - in part due to the large number of guest appearances on each record. His debut effort, Shaq Diesel, reached US platinum status, having shifted one million copies since its release in 1993. Sophomore album Shaq-Fu: Da Return didn't do quite as well, but can still boast over 500,000 sales. A less well-received musical endeavour came in 2008, and involved his tumultuous relationship with former-teammate Kobe Bryant. While on the mic in a New York nightclub, Shaq cut a vulgar freestyle on Bryant, throwing their seemingly-deceased feud back into the public limelight.
