The Huntington Beach Bad Boy was one of the first Zuffa-era UFC fighters who you really loved to hate. Actually, he was pre-Zuffa era, but the majority of his big UFC fights came after the Fertittas and Dana White bought the struggling MMA promotion. There's really a laundry list of reasons that fans dislike Tito. For starters, there was his ego, his attitude, and the way he disrespected the legendary Frank Shamrock during their feud. There was the t-shirt disrespecting Lion's Den member Guy Mezger. Then he married porn star Jenna Jameson. There were domestic disputes. Abuse allegations. All kinds of dirty laundry. And, of course, a very public dispute between Ortiz and Dana White. While Ortiz wasn't always in the wrong (Jameson is a train wreck and he has some valid points about how the UFC is run), it was all just too much drama for the fans to take. Just as many hated him as loved him, right from the start - but either way, he's a legend.
