Demichelis suffered an utterly torrid time when he first joined Manchester City. His relationship with Manuel Pellegrini seemed to be the only thing keeping him in the side, such was the extent of damage his errors were causing the team.

This season however, he’s looked a totally different player.

After shaving off his flowing locks, Demichelis has eliminated the errors that blighted the previous season and established himself as an important player.

Man City may have underachieved in that they failed to cling on to Chelsea’s tail in the title race, but few had many complaints with the centre back's part in City’s season.

Not many could’ve predicted that the Argentine would starred ahead of club captain and Premier League great Vincent Kompany this season.
