10 Worst Back To Back NBA Draft Picks Of The Last 10 Years
3. Ádám Hanga Before Isaiah Thomas
Ádám Who?
You know, the guy who averaged almost 18 points, 4 rebound, 3 assists and 3 steals at just 22 years old for a professional basketball team in Hungary?
Granted, Hanga is not a bad player, he's actually been named the Euroleague's best defender for the season, but the problem with the small forward is that he has yet to play a game in the NBA. While he had a great year before being chosen with the 59th pick in the 2011 draft by the Spurs, the player selected immediately after him proved to be much, much better.
Isaiah Thomas is small. Listing him at 5'9" seems generous. That's why teams overlooked - pun intended - his dribbling, passing and, most notably, scoring. While most rookies find it hard to adjust to the NBA and are rarely given starter minutes, Thomas started 37 games for the Sacramento Kings, while being the last pick in the draft. The number one position needs the player to be the floor general - handle the ball and call plays for his teammates - and Thomas proved more than ready to do so. He is now the heart and soul of the Boston Celtics.
The fact that he was snubbed by the San Antonio Spurs makes this entry all the more interesting.
