10 Worst Footballing Decisions Celtic Ever Made

4. The Current Lack Of Action In This Year's Transfer Market

This may seem a little early to place this in Celtic's historical screw-up moments, but things right now for Celtic look a little bleak when they definitely shouldn't. Celtic are in brilliant shape, but you wouldn't think so when looking at the team. My main target of scrutiny is Peter Lawwell. This man is on the end of every Celtic fan's lips at the moment as the Chief is deemed by many to be downsizing the club. Not what you want to be doing to Celtic. The evidence for this theory is actually quite strong, and the departure of Neil Lennon along with the lack of transfer activity since the appointment of Ronny Deila only emphasises the view point. Since Deila's appointment, Celtic have not spent any money on transfers (2 loan signings, and 1 free transfer). Ronny has recently proclaimed his disinterest in signing players on loan, and wants to do what Lennon and O'Neill successfully did - build a dynasty. So far, there seems to be no indication that Ronny has been given funds to work with. If Celtic fans were to openly address our Cheif Exec, it would read like this: Peter, you are so far making one of the worst cases of football decision making in the history of the club by holding back the huge amount of funds that the club has generated. From the past two seasons, with the sale of key players, as well as the Champions League revenue the club has made from participation and league prize money, the club has made a figure in the region of £75 million before tax and outgoing expenses. This figure is staggering for a Scottish club in two years. Give Ronny some money to spend, for crying out loud!

As a recent university graduate and a huge supporter of Celtic FC, what better way to use my inevitable free time to write about my favourite football team? I'll cover most things that the supporters are talking about at the moment, which includes things that directly and indirectly involve the club. At times I may also stray into matters concerning English clubs.
