10 Worst Spurs Managers Of The Premier League Era

6. Glenn Hoddle

Another Spurs legend who took over the managerial reins is Glenn Hoddle. Hoddle's appointment at White Hart Lane was seen by many as the potential revival of Tottenham after many seasons of mediocrity - but unfortunately that mediocrity continued under the former England boss. Spurs finished ninth in his first season in charge in 2001-02, tenth in his second season in charge in 2002-03 and a dismal start to the 2003-04 season saw him sacked within a month. He was replaced by caretaker boss David Pleat, who took over for the remaining eight months or so. He did take Spurs to the League Cup final in his first season in charge, but Spurs lost 2-1 to Blackburn Rovers, with Christian Ziege scoring the Lilywhites' only goal. His record in the league during his time in charge was 89 games played, 32 wins, 18 draws and 39 losses.
