10 Young Players Who Could Help England Win World Cup 2022
6. Will Hughes
At the age of 23, Will Hughes is the oldest player on this list but still has plenty of time to make a breakthrough into the Three Lions' senior set-up. Most observers tend to agree that the one area in which England are lacking is in midfield, with analysts arguing that the team needs an Iniesta-type figure to control games with incisive passing and superior technical ability.
With his excellent footballing brain, flair, and eye for a pass, Will Hughes could be the player England needs. He scored two goals for Watford last season after leaving Derby County as one of the fans' favourite players of recent times, having made his debut at a very young age and rapidly being regarded as a potential world class talent.
It's hard to know if Hughes will fully live up to all of that potential, but he's taken to the Premier League very well and is particularly good at keeping the ball and picking out passes that other players simply wouldn't see. He has a lot of talent and will be looking to push on in the 2018-19 season to become a more established figure in the Watford squad, as well as perhaps earning his first cap.
