10 Young Stars Who Could Shape Chelsea's Future

Which of Chelsea's many talented youngsters represents the future of the team?

The wealth of young talent available to Chelsea is deeper than at almost any other club in the world. Some have come through the ranks at the academy, others have been cherry-picked from across the globe by the club's extensive scouting network. With Financial Fair Play an increasingly important factor in the club's considerations, not to mention quotas for non-homegrown players in both the Premier League and Europe, it seems almost undeniable that Chelsea's youth prospects will finally have an avenue to the first team. Will any of them achieve John Terry's level of success, planting themselves firmly in the heart of Blues' first team and staying there? We can but hope, so here is my selection of the ten players most likely to prove themselves worthy of making the biggest step up in football. To keep this list interesting and prevent young players who are already first teamers from slipping in (the likes of Oscar, Hazard or Courtois), it will be limited to players under 21 years of age. They can have been signed from anywhere at any price, but are not allowed to have thus far made more than 10 first team appearances for the Blues. Mourinho has already called out several of these players as future England internationals and there are some sensational international prospects on the list as well. So let's jump right on in and investigate which ten players could be instrumental in keeping Chelsea in silverware for the next decade and beyond...
