10. Wonga Aren't Going Anywhere

When asked if the club would be dropping Wonga based on revelation of "illegal practices" in the media, they offered a flat no, stating that the sponsors had worked more pro-actively than any other sponsor. And then, given that the naming rights of the stadium are tied into the Wonga deal, the club were asked to confirm whether they would be back up for sale. The response: "The club stated that the stadium naming rights had been bought by Wonga and effectively given back to the club as part of Wonga's sponsorship deal but that the club has not considered and is not considering it at present." Translation Of course Wonga work more with the club - they have more of a vested interest (and necessity) in proving they aren't villains. And that statement about the naming rights? That couldn't be more of a definitely maybe.
