11 Potential Inaugural Premier League Hall Of Fame Inductees
3. Peter Schmeichel
Peter Schmeichel is the only goalkeeper to appear in this list and that's quite an achievement considering some of the incredible goalkeepers who have played in the Premier League.
Schmeichel spent eight seasons at Manchester United from 1991-1999 and made almost 300 appearances for the Red Devils, keeping over 100 clean sheets. During his time at Manchester United, Schmeichel lifted the Premier League trophy five times and also extended his success beyond the league, winning the Champions League in 1999 and multiple other domestic trophies. In 1996, Schmeichel also became the first goalkeeper to win the Premier League Player of the Season Award.
Schmeichel left Manchester United in 1999 but returned to the Premier League in 2001 after signing for Aston Villa. He made 29 appearances for Aston Villa and scored his only ever Premier League goal for them. He then transferred to Manchester City in 2002, spending one year with them before retiring at the conclusion of the 2002-03 season.
