11. Alex White vs. Clay Collard
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvcpGwkE64M Weight Class: Featherweight The featherweight division has been getting more attention than ever before this past year, and that's thanks in large part to the arrival of Conor McGregor. That said, McGregor isn't the only reason that featherweight is the new lightweight: there's Jose Aldo, a long-reigning champion, and last remaining Brazilian champ in the UFC. There's the ever-dangerous Frankie Edgar, who has made his case for a second crack at Aldo's belt. There's Chad Mendes, who just lost to Aldo a second time but remains a threat. Cub Swanson, who lost to Edgar, but has the tools to bounce back strong. All this means that now is the time to really develop the division. You might just see a featherweight boom in 2015. For the UFC's first card in December, they've got a couple of fighters really just starting out in the promotion to open the Fight Pass portion of the card. Alex White (101) is 1-1 in the UFC, and coming off a loss to Lucas Martins. Prior to that he had a Performance of the Night against Estevan Payan in his UFC debut. Clay Collard (13-5) is coming off a loss to Max Holloway, but Holloway is a tough guy to make your promotional debut against, and is himself on a four fight win streak. What this all adds up to is a pair of fighters with limited experience in the promotion but hungry for a win. Collard runs the risk of being cut with a loss so motivation may be a factor, but White has shown to be the better of the two thus far. White via TKO in the first two rounds.
