11 Surprising Stats From Man Utd 0-0 Newcastle United

6 - Successful Tackles Made By Chancel Mbemba, More Than Any Other Player

Chancel Mbemba was imperious against Manchester United. Yes Memphis may have managed to get past the Democratic Republic of Congo international on a couple of occasions, but Mbemba was playing in the unfamiliar position of right-back due to Daryl Janmaat's absence and put in a sterling shift. In fact, Mbemba attempted 11 tackles - more than any other player - and he was successful with six of those, also the highest of any representative for either side. Add into that the 13 clearances he made by himself and the two interceptions, and Mbemba's overall defensive performance was magnificent on Saturday. Interestingly, Mbemba also provided the wicked delivery for Aleksandar Mitrovic's header which crashed back off the bar, so it wasn't just in his own half that he was effective either.
