12 Worst Players Currently Playing For Premier League's Top 6

3. Paulo Gazzaniga

Paulo Gazzaniga's move to Spurs was one of the stranger transfers of the summer window, the 25-year-old having spent five years a distant third-choice goalkeeper at Southampton (with his precious few appearances nearly all marred by goal-gifting blunders).

It seems too simple to suggest that Mauricio Pochettino, seeking another body to keep Messrs Lloris and Vorm on their toes, opted at the last minute for a player with whom he's worked before (and who, happily, hails from the same 3000-people-strong village in Argentina).

Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best explanation, though, and while Gazzaniga - who spent last season on loan in Spain's second division - isn't likely to wear Tottenham's number one jersey any time soon, he fulfills a semi-important role in the squad. Good for him.
