Julian Draxler has over 150 appearances for German side Schalke 04 and is already a World Cup winner by the age of 21. He is one of the most sought-after wingers in world football, and has been touted with £30 million moves to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid in recent seasons. Which begs the question - if Schalke are so determined to hold onto him, why arent they making more of an effort? Its not like they are competing at the business end of the Champions League each season, so one would have to think that they would have to start speaking the only language footballers understand - money. For Draxler, however, he seems quite content plying his trade in Germany on a relatively modest £45k p/wk, and one has to respect the German side for refusing to break their wage structure and principles to accommodate their prized asset.
