15 Worst Ever Arsenal Premier League Signings

15. Emmanuel Eboue

Emmanuel Eboue enjoyed a good start to his Arsenal career after moving from their feeder club in Belgium, Beveren, in 2004. He would break into the first team a season later when Lauren suffered a long term injury. Much to everyone's surprise he held down his place in the starting eleven and put in some stellar performances over the course of the season and even helped Arsenal reach the Champions League final for the only time in their history. Eboue's downfall really began when Bacary Sagna was signed in the summer of 2007 to be the first choice right back. Arsene Wenger stated his intention to play Eboue on the right wing and while his attacking instincts lend themselves well to the position, Eboue just did not suit the role. It was a season later where his performances descended into farce. Brought on as a substitute against Wigan he constantly lost possession and even tackled one of his own team mates at one point. The boos could be heard clearly around the Emirates and he was unceremoniously hooked from the match. It is for this reason Eboue is included on this list. He was the substitute who got substituted. How he survived another two seasons at the club before departing for Galatasaray speaks volumes for the poor quality of the Arsenal squad at that time.
