15 Worst Ever Man Utd Premier League Signings

12. Jordi Cruyff

Having done wonders for the Dutch at Euro 96 (see: have an average tournament but score a goal), the son of the legendary Johan ended up making a £1.4 million move from Barcelona to Manchester United. The name Cruyff alone summons skill, flair and poise to mind. Sadly Jordi was lacking in those three attributes during his time at Old Trafford. Whilst he would have a few injury issues during his time at United, Jordi made the most minimal of minimal impact at the club until he left in 2000. The word of many a Red Devils alumni, including Ryan Giggs himself, is that Jordi Cruyff was absolutely hands-down the best player at the club when it came to performances in training and in tighter, smaller, possession-based games. Sadly, for whatever reason, Cruyff couldn€™t replicate these performances in his senior appearances for the Reds. Cruyff would end up leaving for Alaves on a free transfer in 2000 and is now General Manager of Football at Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic.
