20 English Players Newcastle Should Sign This Summer

14. James Wilson

Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle are just some of the Premier League clubs interested in signing James Wilson from Manchester United, with the forward potentially available on loan next season. The fact that Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is contemplating letting Wilson leave on loan for a season may surprise many considering the youngster shot on to the scene with two goals during his debut first-team appearance for Man United against Hull City last May. However, many at Old Trafford believe the 19-year-old forward would greatly benefit from starting week-in, week-out in the Premier League. Often preferred by Van Gaal to loan signing Radamel Falcao last season, Wilson has now scored a total of four goals in 18 first-team appearances (the majority of which have been off the bench). Wilson is renowned for his pace and his eye for goal, so he would add something to the Newcastle forward line that was severely lacking during 2014-15.
