20 Hardest Football Hardmen Of All Time

17. Duncan Ferguson

One of the Premier League€™s most infamous hardmen, Duncan €˜Disorderly€™ was notorious for his aggressive and competitive style of play during his career, which he mostly spent in England with Everton and Newcastle. Ferguson picked up 9 red cards in total during his playing days, the most infamous resulted in a three-month prison stretch after a head-butt on Raith Rovers€™ John McStay during his Rangers days in 1994, for which he also gained a 12 match ban. As if his on-field actions were not enough to cement his hardman status, his 4 counts of assault (one being the previously mentioned headbutt) surely provide the icing on the cake. ] However, this was not all, in 2001 two burglars foolishly made the decision to break into €˜Big Duncs€™ house. Whilst one got away, Ferguson was able to detain the second burglar, who subsequently went on to spend three days in hospital. Well, that€™s the price you pay for stupidity€
