20 Most Bizarre Moments In Premier League History

5. Luis Suarez Bites Branislav Ivanovic

Late in the 2012/13 Premier League season, Liverpool and Chelsea scrapped to a tough 2-2 draw at Anfield - but a single incident from the game came to dominate the headlines. Luis Suarez's unprovoked bite on Branislav Ivanovic made him the target of national scorn, and earned him a ten match ban seen by many as too lenient. Unbelievably, not only was this the second time Suarez had bitten an opponent (having done the same to PSV midfielder Otman Bakkal while playing for Ajax), but he went on to repeat the trick on the biggest stage of all. At the 2014 World Cup, he bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini in a group game, this time resulting in a four month ban from all footballing activities.
