25 Worst Premier League Signings Ever

17. Fernando Torres

We're not talking about the version of Fernando Torres Liverpool got here; he was astounding. No, we're talking about Fernando Torres in his Chelsea form. Regarded by many as the ultimate encapsulation of the term €œflop€, Liverpool must have been rubbing their hands until they were raw at the prospect of receiving £50m for their out of form striker in 2011.

Even the promise of forming Europe's deadliest strike partnership wasn't enough to get the Spanish striker out of his slump in form, and despite an iconic goal in the semi finals of the Champions League against Barcelona, he was never the same prolific striker as he was in his early days at Anfield.

The ultimate summing up of his Chelsea career? Rounding David De Gea at Old Trafford and blaring a shot wide of an open goal...in front of the Stretford End.
