25 Worst Premier League Signings Ever
18. Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli had an...interesting career in England prior to his short stint away. A member of the title winning Manchester City side of 2012, actually providing the assist for the goal that won the league in the final seconds; he always showed flashes of brilliance marred by bizarre behaviour on and off the field. Deemed too difficult to work with by Roberto Mancini, he was shifted back to Italy, before Liverpool came calling after selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona in 2014.
Regarded by many as a panic buy at the tail end of the summer transfer window simply because Liverpool needed a striker, Balotelli never truly settled in Merseyside. Brendan Rogers' tactics never suited his style of play, his social media presence meant he was making more front page headlines than back page ones, and before long the Italian was out of favour with the Reds.
With a paltry return of four goals in twenty eight appearances, Rogers had given up trying to find the player that was a revelation at Inter and City, and sent him back to Milan.
