2. Liverpool won't recoup the investment if they sell now
Much was made of the ridiculously inflated transfer fee that was paid to Newcastle when Carroll signed for the Reds and it seems that Liverpool will never recoup that money from his purchase. A loan move would offer Liverpool very little hope of a decent return, especially if the Aquilani saga is anything to go by and if they looked to seel Carroll, they would certainly lose at around £20 million as things stand. So in my humble opinion, I would say keep him if only to try to squeeze some more back from the initial investment. His eventual transfer fee won't drop much lower if he is unable to recapture his form anyway and if he does find that golden touch then he would be either a great asset to keep, or sell on for more money later.
