Roy Hodgson is set to name his provisional 30 man squad for the World Cup on 13 May. There was a time when we were blessed with a wealth of talent but the likes of Shearer, Owen, Sheringham and Fowler seem a distant memory now. If Hodgson's men are to make it out of a group that includes some of the world's most deadly strikers, think Suarez, Cavani and Balotelli, then they are surely going to have to score more goals than they have mustered in recent tournaments. England only managed five goals in five games during Euro 2012 and three of those came in one group game against Sweden.
