5 Fiercest Derbies In British Football

2. West Ham v Milwall

west ham millwall Where to start with this one. If you ever needed a definition of 'fierce rivalry', look no further than West Ham and Milwall. Two teams separated by the Thames. Anyone who has seen Green Street would have an understanding of the intensity of this derby. Sure, it was a film, but if you've ever spoke to a supporter of either of these teams, you'd soon realize the film does indeed paint a true reflection on the rivalry. This feisty derby was seen in the 09/10 League Cup clash when West Ham were fined £115,000 for failing to control their fans, who invaded the field of play on more more than three occasions. This rivalry originated from two opposing docks, either side of the Thamas. Again, another example of battling for the rights of the area. Plenty of clashes have flared off pitch too. The two clubs inherit two of the largest 'firms' in English football.
