5 Moments That Defined Luis Suarez's Liverpool Career

5. The Patrice Evra Incident

Manchester United fans in particular won't have too many a nice word to say about the Uruguayan, especially after one of his most controversial moments in a Liverpool shirt in 2011. In December of that year, United and Liverpool had fought out a 1-1 draw at Anfield. During the contest, Suarez and Red Devils defender Patrice Evra had a coming together, and it would later transpire that Suarez had racially abused the United star. An eight-match suspension swiftly followed, along with a £40,000 fine. In the days following the controversy, Liverpool players would later cause another stir by regrettably sporting tee-shirts in support of the banned Uruguayan, as both he and the club's image were dragged through the mud. It was just one of several such controversial moments throughout Suarez€™s stay on Merseyside.
