During the final of the 2006 World Cup, Zinedine Zidane got some fine, fine revenge on Italy's Marco Materazzi.

After the then-Inter Milan defender had reportedly made some remarks about Zidane's "whore sister", the French icon turned around and headbutted his rival. Then, however, you have to question that revenge due to how the rest of the game would play out.

Of course, Materazzi got his own revenge over Zidane as his Italy team went on to defeat France and become the winners of the 2006 World Cup.

Who emerged the victor of this? Well, Materazzi was the one lifting the World Cup trophy above his head. But then again, Zizou did get to stick the nut on the annoying centre-half.

On this, it depends on whether you prefer your revenge to be more physical or mental as to who the real winner was.
