4. Xherdan Shaqiri
Frank Augstein/AP/Press Association ImagesXherdan Shaqiri is another talented individual who could help fill the void of Luis Suarezs departure. The Swiss star has failed to assert himself in the Bundesliga, since joining league champions Bayern Munich from Basel in 2012. Dubbed the Alpine Messi, the 22-year-olds low centre of gravity and pace enables him to beat opposition players for fun. Although only 5ft 6in, Shaqiri is deceptively strong and that will fill Brendan Rodgers with the belief that the winger could adapt to the Premier League. Shaqiri has been a star for Switzerland at this summers World Cup, becoming the 50th player in the tournaments history to score at hat-trick as his country defeated Honduras 3-0 to qualify for the knockout stages. The first of those goals, a brilliant solo effort, showed just how talented the Bayern Munich man is. Reports have been growing that
Liverpool are closing in a £15 million deal for Shaqiri, beating off interest from Italian champions Juventus. The move comes as no surprise. Shaqiri suits Rodgers fast paced and technical style perfectly, and at just 22 years of age there is scope for him to develop into a key element of the Liverpool side.
