5 Players Who Have Represented Newcastle And Northampton Town

5. Ben Tozer

Remind me why this guy isn't playing for England right now? Ben was heralded as 'the next big thing' as he signed for Newcastle from Swindon Town in 2008 for "an estimated" £1 million fee, even though he had only made seven senior appearances for The Robins. He was shunted straight into the Magpies' reserves and never heard from again. Well, he did start in a 2-0 League Cup defeat to Peterborough in September 2009 and came on as sub in a Championship fixture against Doncaster a few months later... Tozer spent two loan spells on loan at Northampton while he was at St James' Park before signing for The Cobblers on a permanent basis in 2011. He made 199 appearances and scored seven goals before being released at the end of last season. The defender signed a one-year deal at Yeovil Town during the summer.
