5 Positives Of UFC's 2015 Schedule

3. Flyweights And Straw-Weights Having More Exposure

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3C1poZIF6dk Over the past three years, two divisions have been brought into the UFC. The flyweight division was brought in during 2012 and has given them the premium platform for world-class fighters to compete at. While a fair amount of naïve MMA fans have trouble gravitating towards them, their fights have provided fast-paced captivating action. Now the straw-weight division has come in and will crown a champion in less than a month. This can very well boost female viewership towards the sport, along with helping women€™s MMA grow as a whole. With the same amount of events occurring in 2015 as in 2014, cards will need to be filled. Fox Sports 1 could use a significant boost in viewership for their fight night events. They need to bolster some of these lackluster cards that have taken place. San Antonio and Bangor come to mind, as two fight nights that were relatively dull as expected. How they can bolster these cards is from both of these divisions. The need to put the flyweight title fight on pay-per-view is unnecessary, unless they desperately need to do it. What€™s wrong with it headlining a fight night? The ratings would receive a major boost rather than the continuous inconsistency amongst UFC events. If they can hold at least two to three title fights on Fox Sports 1, it can work wonders in keeping fans interested during non pay-per-view events. The straw-weight title will be on the line on Fox Sports on December 12th. Hopefully that won€™t be the last time we see a straw-weight title fight take place on there.
