5 Reasons Cardiff City Were Daft To Sack Malky Mackay (Despite Solskjaer Appointment)

3. This Is Malky€™s Team

Another key reason why Mackay should have been retained as manager is because that it is his team that is setup to play in his ways. I know that Tan has already suggested that there was going to be money available for the new manager €“ but the January window is always going to be very difficult to sign players. Some people might argue that the new Cardiff boss may very well have substantial funds in January, but that doesn€™t necessarily make things any easier. The more money you have, the more you are going to be competing with the best clubs in the world for the best players. Therefore, it€™s more than likely that Cardiff€™s fate rests largely on the players that are currently within the squad. Mackay was therefore always going to be the right man to get the best out of those players. How well Solskjaer is able to motivate those players between now and the end of the season will prove to be very important in the quest for survival.
