5 Reasons Everton Can Reach The Champions League
Everton have been absolutely flying this season. Many expected the Toffees to experience a sticky situation after the end of David Moyes' long tenure as manager but they've seemingly had no problems at all, easing into Roberto Martinez' control. The blue half of Merseyside are high on spirits and are well in the running for a place amongst Europes elite next season. The Premier League is extremely close this season but Everton are right amongst it near the top. The dream of Champions League football occupies the minds of the city of Liverpool. The Reds haven't experienced the competition since the days of Rafael Benitez but for Everton it's been an even longer wait and much more painful. In 2005/06 they reached the qualification stages but were knocked out by Spanish outfit Villarreal, after seeing their biggest rivals lift the trophy the previous season. Everton deserve their chance in the competition and this season is their best chance. Roberto Martinez said after Everton's 2-0 victory over Norwich that he doesn't take any notice of the league table until the final nine games but the fans definitely do and like what they see. The Toffees have the capability of maintaining their brilliant season so far and theoretically are still in the title race, although they are outsiders.
