5 Reasons Newcastle Must Sell Papiss Cisse (And 5 Why They Shouldn't)

... And Reasons Why They Should Keep Him...

5. A Half-Fit Cisse Averaged A Goal Every Other Game Last Season

The facts don't lie - and the stats from the 2014-15 campaign show that Cisse played just 22 times in all competitions (with every single appearance having been in the Premier League), yet he scored 11 times. To put that into perspective, only Ayoze Perez (with seven goals in 26 Premier League appearances) scored more than four for the Magpies in the league - and there were only four players in the entire Newcastle squad who netted more than twice, with only six getting more than one. An alternative striker who scores at such a rate will not come cheap - and the early signs are that Newcastle are not overly keen to part with the sort of cash that will replace Cisse's goals.
