5 Reasons Why Sami Khedira Is Right To Choose Chelsea Over Arsenal

5. The Money

Sami Khedira looked all set to join Arsenal earlier in the week, with the Gunners favourites to land the Germany international and make him their second signing of the summer following the capture of Alexis Sanchez. However, as always seems to be the case with Arsene Wenger, they're on the verge of missing out because of money. Arsenal reportedly balked at Khedira's £150,000-a-week wage demands, leaving the door open for Chelsea to steal in and pluck the midfielder from right under their noses. The Blues, bankrolled by super-rich Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich (above) have already shown this summer that money is no object, bringing in Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa for a combined £62 million. Chelsea are prepared to offer the highest transfer sums and the most generous wages of all Premier League sides, and from a purely selfish, fiscal point of view, Khedira is right to move to Stamford Bridge over Emirates Stadium if it means getting a better personal deal. Sorry Arsene, but you have to splash the cash to sign the big names.
