Brazilian superstar Philippe Coutinho was one of the bright sparks of the entire Premier League campaign last term, lighting up the league with some breathtaking performances and stunning goals.

This form inevitably led to interest from elsewhere, and it was common knowledge throughout the summer that Barcelona were determined to land the player.

Liverpool stood their ground, refused to sell, and now have a situation regarding Coutinho which could prove tricky between now and January. Jurgen Klopp will no doubt have spoken to his number 10 and will be hoping he can get some performances out of him to help the team pick up points.

However, there has to be questions asked about just where Coutinho's head will be at. The player has already voiced his dismay at seeing a move to Spain collapse, and he could well down tools and save himself for when he inevitably moves to the Catalan club next year.
