If one thing was evidently clear last season in both Europe and in the Premier League for Liverpool, it was that both goalkeeper choices were simply not up to task.

In Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius, Jurgen Klopp has managed to fall upon two goalkeepers who seem to be of similar ilk, make similar mistakes, and breed a sense of panic into their defences.

In a summer when so much transfer activity was taking place, it looks a foolish move for Klopp to not have addressed the goalkeeping scenario at Anfield. This season has already seen the German manager swap his 'keepers around, while naming Karius as his sole Champions League number one is a bizarre move which has drawn quite the backlash.

Time will tell over the course of the season, but at the moment, it looks like being something which could well come back to bite Klopp come May next year.
