5 West Brom Players Who Will Target NUFC At Set-Pieces

Tony Pulis' side have scored 19 goals from set pieces - the second most in the Premier League.

Newcastle United did not just concede three goals during the embarrassing and humbling 3-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium against Leicester City last weekend, they conceded from three set-pieces. West Bromwich Albion arrive at St James' Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off) buoyed following a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford. What's more, Baggies head coach Tony Pulis loves nothing more than to score from set-pieces - he has ensured his players are drilled at them from his Stoke City and Crystal Palace days, right through until his time at West Brom. In fact, so effective from set-pieces are West Brom that they have scored 19 goals from them this season - the second highest in the Premier League behind only Arsenal (who have netted 21 times). The Baggies have scored 12 times from corners, four times from free-kicks (both direct and in-direct), and four times from the penalty spot. Newcastle on the other hand have scored just six set-piece goals all season, leaving them joint bottom in the stats. Furthermore, Newcastle have conceded 60 goals this season - the second highest in the top flight - and 12 of those were from headers. West Brom's huge side must be heading to Tyneside licking their lips at the possibility of scoring from a set-piece. So here are five West Bromwich Albion players who will be targeting Newcastle United at set-pieces this weekend...
