6 Main Card Predictions For UFC Fight Night: Bader vs. Saint Preux

5. Shawn Jordan vs. Jack May

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAUlsrYFeko Weight Class: Heavyweight A fight positioned second on the main card because fans love to watch big guys stand and bang, Jordan vs. May isn't a fight that has any relevance to the heavyweight division as a whole, but has a ton of relevance to Jack May as far as his career is concerned. After losing his first bout to hot prospect Derrick Lewis, this fight will determine whether Jack May (7-1) stays in the UFC, or goes back down to the regional circuits. Here's the thing: May probably goes back down. Shawn Jordan (15-6) is coming off two losses, but he has fought better competition throughout his career, and after getting steamrolled by the Black Beast, I don't see may lasting long with Jordan. I'll call Jordan by TKO in the first. That said: with all the new UFC heavyweight signings over the past two years, there seems to have been a major opportunity missed to have done another heavyweight season of The Ultimate Fighter. Derrick Lewis, Jared Rosholt, Jack May, Walt Harris, Nikita Krylov (though he has dropped down to light heavyweight), Daniel Omielanczuk, Anthony Hamilton, Alexey Oleinik, even Soa Palelei, despite being a vet - these names should have been fed into TUF, which is dying to have something as interesting as the spectacle of watching heavyweights train and meet in the cage week after week. Instead, they were all signed direct to the promotion, and another opportunity was squandered. Again, Jordan by TKO in the first. Otherwise there's a good chance he finds himself cut, though heavyweight is quite thin and he comes to finish, so he could live to fight another day.
