6 Main Card Predictions For UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Dollaway
3. Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Patrick Cummins
Weight Class: Light Heavyweight What a year Patrick Cummins has had. He started off 2014 serving coffee then found himself in a co-main event match against former training partner Daniel Cormier. The fact of the matter is, Cormier is the much better fighter, but the UFC needed someone quick, and Cummins was willing to get beat up on little notice, and trash talk to promote the fight. It turned out to be the right move. Cummins (6-1) is now on a two-fight win streak in the UFC, having TKO'd Roger Narvaez and defeated Kyle Kingsbury by decision. He now looks to add another name to his resume in TUF Brazil 3 heavyweight winner Antonio Carlos Junior (40), who is fighting at light heavyweight here (many of the TUF Brazil 3 heavyweghts were on the smaller size). This could be a close bout. Cummins needs to avoid the submission game of Carlos Junior, which may be tough for the wrestler. We may see the ground games cancel each other out, resulting in some sloppy boxing, and in that case, Cummins could have an edge. We're giving him a close decision win here, mostly because he has fought better competition, but it could go either way.
